CoralBoard Cases & Mounts

AI does not always have to run in the cloud. Coral is a platform from Google Research focused on running AI directly on devices, where models can process data locally instead of sending everything up to a server.

The new Synaptics Coralboard is a development board built around this idea. It uses Synaptics hardware together with Coral NPU technology from Google Research and is made for experimenting with on-device AI. You can connect cameras, displays, audio, and other hardware to build the whole projects around it.

And that also means it needs something that makers are very good at: cases, mounts, stands, and all the other parts that a bare development boards need to do their job.

The challenge

Design a 3D printable case, mount, stand, or other practical accessory for the Coralboard.

The main goal is to create something that works around the board itself and helps protect it, mount it, position it, or integrate it into a project.

A few ideas to get you started:

  • Protective cases and enclosures
  • Desk, wall, or VESA-style mounts
  • Stands and brackets
  • Cable management
  • Simple housings for demos and prototypes

A well-designed case or mount that solves one clear problem is exactly what we are looking for.

More advanced projects are welcome too. If you want to build a complete smart camera setup, demo station, sensor project, or another functional device around the Coralboard, go for it. However, this is an optional direction, not a requirement for the participation.

You don't need a Coralboard to participate

Official reference CAD files are provided on Coral Printables account so you can design around the board dimensions, mounting points, ports, connectors, and other important areas.

Use these files as the base for your design and make sure the parts that need to stay accessible stay accessible.

What we're looking for

Your design should make sense for real use. Think about how the board will be mounted, how cables will connect, whether ports remain accessible, and how the final model will be printed and assembled.

If you use additional hardware such as screws, magnets or other parts, list them clearly in the model description.

And as always, good documentation helps.
