XbotGo Chameleon Replacement Base

This is a replacement part for the XbotGo Chameleon automated AI filming device. Some of the devices had a problem with the base, which wouldn't hold up and would separate in two pieces, rendering the device useless unless replaced by manufacturer.

Dismantle the Chameleon by taking out the screw from the broken piece struck within the bearing. Save the screw.

Pry out the broken piece but be careful as you are operating around the axis of the motor - no excessive force please.

In order to substitute the part you need to tear down the broken part and peel off the rubber mat (try to set it aside without getting the sticky side dusty - you will need it for the new part.

Unscrew the dead weight from the broken part and save the three self tapping screws.

Mount the dead weight on the new part. It will need to be pushed in with a slightly pursuading approach. This is necessary due to the next step:

Use your soldering iron (preferably with an inserting attachment) and melt the insert into the 3D printed part.

Then apply the rubber mat - and youre done!
