Guilheim's original design is fantastic! We have made some edits to it based on feedback from a user with a congenital limb difference at the middle portion of his index and ring fingers to make it work for him. Based on his experience with other congenital finger difference individuals, the redesigns we have made should potentially work more effectively for others and we want to make it available for testing and/or feedback by the community.
The design is being used with RESIN 3D printing and not FDM. Resin provides the detail and the strength that we have found to be necessary for the small tolerances that are needed for the design to be robust and functional for daily use.
Thus far, we have only tested with the PRUSA SL1S and the PRUSA TOUGH and FLEX RESINS.
Work is ongoing to parametrically redesign the entire finger to allow for easier customizability to more finger shapes and sizes. Instructions and a sizing guide will be updated periodically on the following document:
