About a year ago I made that design when playing with CAD. I needed flush and solid solution for charging my mobile devices. I also needed some switch for my light bar behind monitors.

The charger is designed to be mounted in a cable grommet hole with a diameter of 60 to 65 mm, and the thickness of the desk can range from 7 to 32 mm (an adapter is included in the files, which can be mounted, allowing a maximum desk thickness of 50 mm).

Whole body of this model was based on the dimensions of the chinese USB QC3.0 board from aliexpress. I wanted to reduce the wobble of the USB port soo the boards are guided in a slots in a top and bottom plates. Each module is capable of charging with 20W. Top plate is mounted to barrel using 4 M3x6 BHCS screws directly into plastic. Bottom plate is held by tabs modeled into a barrel and when the boards are mounted that holds it in an enough tension to reduce USB ports wobble. Also it acts as a mount for wago style connectors (I used ORNO brandoffs).

Aditionally if you want to use switch functionality the top cover has embedded slots for TTP223, step down converter and MOSFET modules (I just soldered step down converter for TTP223 to the mosfet module in hack'n style so no mounts for that lol). To mount a TTP223 you just need to solder wires, jump the board into Self Lock mode and push it into a slot in top plate. Capative area is "on little island" so wires and solder on this side of PCB don't interfere contact. Mosfet module needs to have connectors desoldered as you can see.

Print and assembly tips:

  • Slicer settings like for Voron project parts, ABS/ASA recomended due to heat
  • Part orientation as suggested in auto orient
  • No supports needed
  • Silicone insulation wires are recomended for internal wiring soo much less hassle
  • Additional radiator for USB modules highly recomended as the boards can get pretty hot
  • External power supply from good brand and with grounding pole on AC side recomended. Without grouding the TTP223 was sometimes false triggering when tourching the desk and standing on the carpet for example. I used MeanWell LRS-50-12 as it suits my power needs.

BOM list in the zip file with all the step files soo feel free to remix!
