Spearhead made for use in medieval/renaissance combat. These spears were designed for use in the SCA cut and thrust polearm experiment (approved for use as of July 2024). Print with TPU (ALL PARTS) for them to be flexible. Print the stiffener on its side to strengthen the head.
Files include whole parts, split parts, and parts split to be printed at an angle. Two versions of the spear are included: wings and no wings.
-Optional supports for the wings.
-Shave your shaft down to the specifications of the gage provided
--0.5" at the end, 7" long taper.
-Cut a 2.5" long piece of a 1/4" dowel rod and insert into the head.
-Insert the stiffener into the spearhead.
-Fit the head and base together and secure with a filament weld, tape, glue, or wood burning tool.
-Pull and twist down as tightly as you can to the shaft and tape in place.
--The shaft should go into the head about 1".
-Treat any cracks that form with heat.
-Its worth noting that I've been sparring with these without padding except on my head and hands.
