This model allows you to fit the Sony XB500 cushion earpads to your Surface Headphones (1 or 2), extending the life and improving the comfort.
The noise cancelling performance is unfortunately not as good as the original pads, but does still function.
NOTE: Head detection may not function properly, need to investigate how to get this to work reliably. Without proper head detection, the sound will feel muffled.
Although the Sony XB500 is long out of production, replacement earpads can be found on AliExpress, and have a very similar diameter to the Surface Headphone earpads.
This ring would probably also fit other ear pads that fit the following dimensions:
- Inner Diameter: 60-70mm
- Fabric thickness: 1mm (sandwiched between ring and headphone body)

To install, first insert the printed ring into the replacement earpads so that the sharp edge is pressed up underneath the seam:
This will be a tight fit, as the stock cushions are 60mm diameter before stretching, and the bracket is 70mm diameter. But trust me, it will fit!
Once fitted, simply align with the headphone base and twist clockwise to lock. Look for the alignment pin on the edge, which must align with the notch in the ring.
