A fully 3d printed locking mechanism. Fast to print. Simple operation: inserting the key and pushing unlocks, removing the key locks.
Easily modifiable:
- Fusion archive with both the lock and the key
- The bolt can be moved to any side of the lock
- The key can be modified parametrically.
- 70 possible keycodes are available in the attached csv file.
- In Fusion, copy the keycode into the corresponding parameter in the key. Save the key and update the link in the lock to “rekey” the lock to match the key.
Easy to print:
- Works fine in PLA (if the environment the lock will be used in is kept within PLA's happy place).
- Just auto-orient and auto-arrange so all of the flat sides are down and the wafers are laying flat.
- No supports should be needed, the hole for a 3mm nut should print fine with bridges. I used a .4mm nozzle and a .2mm layer height on a smooth PEI sheet.
When assembling, align the notches on the wafers as shown (the location of the notches on the wafer will vary based on keycode, but should still align). The notches are highlighted in the picture so you can see that, from left to right, there are 1, 2, and 3 small notches on each wafer. You may find it easier to use the key to align the notches - they will align if the wafers are placed correctly.
