This is a christmas decoration inspired by Parole lanterns from the Philippines. it originally had LED lights in it.
The front and back are a multicolor print done in a single layer with a second layer on the back for strength. Its thin enough for light to easily shine through it. It takes about 12 minues of print time for the front and back plates but it takes 8 filament changes to do it so you will need to either have an MMU or just babysit the printer. I've included g code for doing this on a prusa mini.
If you don't have a mini, just download all the STL files and load them into PrusaSlicer as a multi part print.
The front has groves cut into the back for the LED lights and will print with its multicolor front plate attached to it as one piece.
Im including the fusion 360 file and the prusaSlicer Project to help in remixing or adapting to other printers.
If using the included g code, start with brown, then dk blue, then yellow, then red, then white, then green then finally light blue. Feel free to experiment with different colors of course.
As seen in the photos, you will need a number of 5mm LEDs. 6 Red, 5 Yellow, 5 Green. All of these should be flashing LEDs like those linked to below

The prototype used a 12v DC power supply. Each Parole only uses 16 LEDs and likely doesn't need very much current. Further testing needed to figure out how much power is really needed.
this is a work in progress.
