My best iteration yet. The connections pop into place and have a firm connection, no accidental disconnects from swiveling like in my early figures. Joint movement is smooth like butter, (if only somewhat tough in a few areas) and will hold their pose, to put it simply, this is the one that feels the best to handle in my opinion. The figure stands at about 7 inches or 177.8mm. (On a side note; This has also been my quickest print, i got everything done in about 3-4 hours, although i do print a bit fast).

For anyone unfamiliar with my previous designs, the joints themselves need to be printed in tpu95a (I've used esun brand for this part), and printed solid in order to function correctly, the gray parts are printed in PLA+(for this part I've used Overture PLA+ gray). You don't need a high infill percentage for the pla parts, i personally used 5% infill, and with an 80mm print speed because I'm impatient, and it still prints well.

One additional note i've forgotten to clarify in my previous posts regarding the joints is the print orientation for the joints themselves. The screenshot in the photo gallery shows my print orientation in cura, be sure to also add tree supports to support the overhangs! this mainly applies to the TPU joints and the PLA sword, the rest of the body can be printed without supports.

Also when assembling the figure, pay attention to the thighs as they have a slight lip to indicate how they should be oriented when assembled. Make sure to print doubles of whatever is necessary (ex: two sets of ankle joint parts, two feet, etc).

Something new I've added to this figure is swappable hands and accessories. The Hands need to be printed in TPU95a, solid like the joints. They can swivel, and the PLA sword can “click” into the grip hand.

Please note: that if assembling the TPU joints is difficult, don't worry about breaking them, they're durable, but you're not. Take your time and twist the pin into the joint half with a great deal of force and it should pop into place. If it helps, you can also scale up the figure so that it's easier to assemble, and the figure may even function a little better. The sword is also a little sharp, so y'know handle with care.

I know this has been a lot to read already, but bear with me, this parts important too..

Print the TPU joints one or two at a time, so for instance print all the parts needed for both ankle joints and that's it, then do a seperate print for the next pair and so on. This will not only help for print accuracy, but you also need to assemble the parts as soon as you can while the parts are still warm. When the TPU is warm it's malleable, and it makes it easier to fit all the pieces together, when you try to assemble it after it's cool and it's more "solidified", you're gonna have a bad time. In other words, be patient.

If the joints are too rigid, it's because the tpu friction becomes “tacky” when cool/cold, warm them up a bit (i just breathe hot air on them like i'm warming my hands) and they should loosen up again, good as new, and movement will be silky smooth for a long time.

Attribution is appreciated, feel free to customize this to your hearts content. Share what you made! I'd love to see it, if you can improve on the design, even better!

QUICK UPDATE: Added some last minute Double joints for even more flex movement in the knees and elbows, it's sorta loosey goosey, but it was a purely unintentional upgrade to begin with, the sockets just so happen to fit and it was fun to mess with. Same settings as the usual TPU joints, The files associated are also named “double _____” for your convenience.
