This is a collection of models that I used to build my first megatree for the Christmas season. Some are original work while others have been modified from other models that I found on Thingiverse.
The purpose of each part and its original creators are noted below.
- Prop Standoff - This is one of the models that I found on Thingiverse and was orginally created by Jason Sisk. I modified it to make the block flat so that regular screws, washers and nylon bolts could be used the mount a coro prop to the ¾" center pole of my tree.
- Seed Pixel Spacer - This is an original design that I created to maintain consistent spacing around the bottom hoop of my megatree. The thin brace simply clips onto the bungee balls that I use to maintain minimal tension. The hoop I use is 4' in diameter from Mattos Designs.
- Seed Pixel Clip - This is another modified design. Originally created by Ron Crown, and posted on Thingiverse, I really liked the way that it held the pixel and positioned the cable ends for connecting power injection cables. The bungee balls I use are made very short, so I created a channel in the clip that the bungee cord slides into to keep the bungee ball and clip connected.
- Seed Pixel Clip with Set Screw - Same as above but mad to fit a M3 square nut and screw to set 1/16" stainless wire rope into place. This was able to withstand 25mph gusts where I live and provided extra support for the seed lights.
- SoundBlaster and FM Transmitter Bracket - This model was designed to mount a small FM transmitter board and SoundBlaster Play 3 together on a small plate. The mounting holes are the same orientation as a Raspberry Pi 4. The SoundBlaster clips securely into it's holder and the FM transmitter also clips into its own holder, which was originally created by Shane Rehm on Thingiverse.
- 1 inch pipe shim - These shims are used to connect EMT T-Connectors from MakerPipe to the 1" round bottom ring of my tree. EMT conduit is slightly larger than 1" and the MakerPipe connectors are designed to fit that style of pipe. This shim fits around the 1" pipe and allows the MakerPipe connectors to securely hold onto the bottom ring.
- PG7 Gland Plug - I made these to plug glands that did not have cables in them to help keep moisture out of my controller box.
All of the parts were printed in PETG with 2 walls and 15% infill.
