Supports are already part of this model. Use brim bor better stablity. I used to print it with transparent ABS and vapor smooth it with acetone. Transparent, smoothable materials will probably look best to achieve a 'non-plasticky' look.
There are internal supports connecting the inner spirals. You can cut those out with scissors before vapor smoothing.
0.15mm or finer layer height works best for me because of the overhangs.
