Simple Alignment Aid for Installing the X-Brace and X Square Frame Brace (Step "2-2 Main Frame Set Assembly")
Mounting the braces with Loctite can be tricky, especially if there is a delay until the next assembly steps. By the following day, the Loctite will likely be set. If you then need to adjust the angle of the braces, the Loctite may break loose, leaving the screws added during this step effectively unsecured.
To ensure precise 90-degree alignment when mounting the braces, I’ve designed this very simple alignment aid.
Application
Using it is straightforward and works the same for both braces: mount the braces loosely, align them precisely perpendicular with the alignment tool (see photos), and then fully tighten the screws. This process resulted in perfect alignment when installing the X Main Plate later on.
Print Parameters:
Very forgiving—almost any settings should work, as the focus is purely on achieving a right angle. I used PLA with a 0.4 mm nozzle and 0.2 mm layer height. Brighter filament may make gaps easier to detect.
