My 15-year-old son is a springboard diver and occasional competitive swimmer. He had a competition today and I realized he's just accumulating his place ribbons on his desk. I wanted to give him a way to display them.

Dimensions:

These are simple three-peg displays with an sports icon on the top representing the sport. The measurements are about 7.25" wide, about 3" tall, and about 1" deep. The base of the display is 5mm thick, the sport figure at the top is 10mm thick, and the pegs have a depth of about ¾" and have a 5mm taper -- wider at the front than the back of the peg. The fronts of the three pegs are 10mm in diameter and each has a place number (2, 1, 3) embossed 2mm deep in the front. In-between the three pegs are 3mm screw holes with a 5mm wide and 3mm deep screw-head inset for mounting

Printing:

Printing with a 0.2mm layer thickness and a printing speed of 100mm/s, they take a little less than 3 hours to print. No supports needed. I have a heated bed on my Anycubic Vyper and I did not need bed adhesion settings.

If people like these, I can make them for other sports, too; I'm just not sure which other sports give out competition ribbons for their athletes. I'll also post the display base without icon so you can make your own.

UPDATE NOTES:

10/28/24: I've added women's freestyle swim and women's pike position diving models; I've also added a version of the base with a center peg that's 5mm higher than the other pegs.

10/28/24: I added an alternate base with oval pegs (10x20 with a tapered 12x22 lip) and 25mm medal slots. This display version has two pieces that need to be stacked to provide room to insert and hang medal ribbons; after inserting the medal ribbon through the slot and pulling it down behind the face, you can insert the medal through the ribbon loop and pull the medal down to secure.

The screw openings used to attach the display to the wall (etc.) are near the top on the rear piece; on the front piece they are in the same location as the original display, and you use screws to fasten the upper piece to the two round columns on the rear piece. The front and rear panels are separated by four 20mm columns - two 10mm-wide round columns to accept 3mm screws and two oval columns to provide additional lateral support. I've included rendered images showing, both, how the rear and front pieces align, as well as an option for personalizing it.
