I've bought a cheap MXL990, repainted it and wanted to replace the capsule to improve the sound quality. You could go with microphone parts setup but it's pretty expensive for a test DIY project so I've ordered a Chinese RK-47 for much less. It doesn't come with adapter though and the adapters are not only sparse - they also tend to be more expensive than the capsule itself. So I've designed this. Works like a charm, didn't break even when I was moving houses and microphone travelled in a box.
Btw. microphone sounds much better now, the mids are much more balanced and it picks up much more details of the voice.
