I recently got a Lenovo Tab P11 Pro and I also had a BSP D8 controller that I thought I would try and use with it. Unfortuntely the D8 has a maximum capacity of 252mm and the P11 Pro is 264mm so won't fit.
Fortunetely I found the following mod by mrmustachesir on Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/EmulationOnAndroid/comments/183wvd4/modifying_bsp_d8_to_fit_11inch_tablets/
Rather than use a scrap piece of metal I modelled up a couple of prints to use instead. There are 5mm and 7.5mm versions. You can install just one on one side of the controller or you can install them on both sides in any combination to extend the capacity by 5mm to 15mm.
I took a couple of photos during install in case it helps.
First, remove the four posi screws from the underside of the left or right side of the controller you want to add the extender to.
In picture A you can see the arm that attaches the central mechanism to the controller housing. This is what we need to extend. To do so, first remove the screw circled. Don't lose it as we will re use it.
Picture B shows the screw removed and the arm lifted up slightly so that it can be pulled away from the threaded boss. You may find it easier to pull/extend the controller slightly when doing this.
Picture C shows the printed part fitted. Refit the screw that was removed in step A. This is the smaller one shown. The other larger screw is a M2.3 x 5mm screw from the following kit:

Picture D shows the same process repeated on the other side of the controller.
In the end I used one 5mm extender and one 7.5mm.
