A remix of an amazing design by Deimosfr. Moon surface model is based on the real lunar 3D data.
I wanted the Border to be larger and should be uniform and not have any joints . The moon is now split into four parts and has a diameter of almost 417mm. Additionally, I made a new frame that is less noticeable and matches the modified moon.
I printed the moon pieces flat with a 0.4mm nozzle, using variable layer height with max quality, 15% infill, and 4 top layers.
Materials used:
- PLA
- Putty (to fill some small gaps between the pieces of the moon)
- Spray paint, White (to paint the moon after using the putty)
- 12V WW LED strip
- Optional: 12V DC jack and adapter
