This trophy is comprised of two parts, but to talk about the first part we will have to go back to the past, the Tang Dynasty in China where to first ever printed item that we know of was printed, the Diamond Sutra, a religious book. For that reason the coin in my trophy design took inspiration from the coins used in the Tang dynasty because to look at the future of innovation we will have to look at the past to see how far we have come. The second part of this design is the lightbulb, a low polymer lightbulb representing innovation which is the principle of 3d printing. All this sits on a nice modern style base, and I hope to see this as an award.
