Compatibility

This bin was designed for a radius gauge set I bought on ebay. The dimensions of the gauges are as follows (width x length x height):

R0.3-1.5:     14 x 71 x 8 mm (9.5 mm with rivets, rivet diameter: 6 mm)
R1-6.5:     14 x 71 x 9 mm (11 mm with rivets, rivet diameter: 7 mm)
R7-14.5:     20 x 82 x 9.5 mm (11 mm with rivets, rivet diameter: 7 mm)

If your set has similar dimensions, you might give this bin a try (or measure it in slicer or CAD).

General

It is 1 x 3 x 3 Gridfinity units in size which corresponds to a size of 42 x 126 x 21 mm + rim heigth. The height was choosen to match the great work of Clough42. It is not stackable when the gauges are inserted, therefore a version without the top rim is included. There are no holes for magnets or screws, because I dont use or plan to use them in the future. For me the bins work fine with just the Superlight Baseplates. In case I want something more secure, like … when I move to an earthquake prone region, I would use Clickfinity baseplates.

To allow for modification STEP files are included though.

Printing

I print my bins with a 0.4mm nozzle in PLA using a first layer height of 0.2 mm and a regular layer height of 0.3 mm. I Further use 2 perimeters and 15% infill. The bottom squares are connected around the outside with a 0.1 mm wide line to ensure proper brim generation if required. If brim is turned of, those will be ignored by the slicer. In addition to that, the connecting area between each 4 squares is recessed, so bridging will work properly.

Acknowledgments

The base bin is generated with the great FreeCAD Gridfinity Workbench.
