Using Vader 3 Pro with the analog stick unlocks great potential for fighting games, especially when assigning directional inputs to back buttons or mapping them to top buttons, and combining these with the analog stick for commands like Shoryuken, dash moves, and more.
I designed this attachment to maximize the input precision of the gamepad for competitive play.

Feature 1: Blocks Up Input
The attachment prevents accidental jumps and provides added benefits for command inputs. Inspired by professional players like Haitani, who have adapted their lever controllers to disable upward input, this attachment brings a similar feature to gamepads with minimal effort.

Feature 2: Narrows the Analog Stick Range
Compared to a D-pad, the analog stick requires greater thumb movement, which can be challenging. This attachment narrows the ring diameter, making the stick’s motion feel closer to a D-pad. This allows easier command inputs and more responsive blocking.

To suit different needs, I've included multiple files with various combinations of these two features.

Additionally, for users who shorten their stick, I created a special ring that avoids contact with the up-input blocker. Though this setup may seem niche, it’s the optimal customization I’ve found. Details about stick shortening can be found on my blog (in Japanese, but machine translation may make it accessible for non-Japanese speakers).

Caution:The ring attachment’s tabs are somewhat fragile and may break if removed and reattached multiple times. If a tab breaks inside the controller, it may cause an unpleasant rattling noise unless disassembled and removed manually.

As this is my first 3D modeling project, please pardon any amateur elements in the design. I was able to print and test it successfully in my setup using Creality Print, printed in PLA. Note that some parts may require support material for printing.

If anyone creates a sturdier design, I'd love to hear about it!

Update (2024-11-21): I have confirmed with the CPT tournament organizers that this attachment does not violate CPT rules.

Update (2024-12-01): Fixed some of the fragile parts to make them stronger.

Update (2025-11-30): Slightly adjusted the up-input blocker size in the “V3_Up-Input-Blocker_Narrow-Ring_For-Shorter-Stick_2025” file.

Update (2025-12-27): Added the "V3_UpinputBlocker_octa” file.
