3D printed case designed to fit the Mini-ITX sized Ironclad Plus motherboard along with a Terasic DE10-nano FPGA board for MiSTer fun.

Features swappable front/back/side panels, LED power button, twin front USB ports, a mount for a 2.5" SSD, DC jack for power input, composite jack for light gun gun support and a 80x15mm PWM fan.

Dimensions are 227x207x79mm. The largest piece was designed to fit on a Prusa MK3S+ print bed.

The majority of parts can be 3D printed. I chose to make the top, bottom and front from 5mm thick grey tinted acrylic. I made these using a template and a router table. I have included the router & drilling template in case it is useful.

I made swappable 3D printed/laser cut side panels. I have included models for both sets. You can design your own panels to fit in if you wish. The front/rear panels are 182x67x5mm, the side panels are 162x167x5mm.

The slots in the front/rear/side and top/bottom profiles are modelled at 5.2mm wide. Even if you buy 5mm acrylic you may find that the thickness varies massively, even on the same sheet. I have uploaded both .stl's and .stp's and you can readily modify the .stp's if required.

I have also included an .stp model of the whole assembly so you can see what goes where.

I used M3 heat insert nuts that have a 4mm insertion diameter and the holes in the parts are modelled to suit. You'll need 28 of these.

Complete hardware list required:

M3 insert nuts x 28
M3x12 CSK machine screw x 12
M3x12 CSK machine screw x 12
M3x6 Flange Bolt (or some kind of bolt + washer) x 4

I also used:

If printing on a MK3S+ the only specific print instruction is the the top/bottom profile needs to be printed without a skirt as it will be outside of the print boundary. Use what you see fit for the other parameters. From memory I used three perimeters and 25% infill.

The only other note is that the ‘Ironclad_Enclosure_Tray_Standoffs’ need to be bonded to the ‘Ironclad_Enclosure_Tray_Top’. There are holes in the Tray Top that can be used for alignment. The holes in the Standoffs and the Tray Top are modelled at 2.8mm as I find that allows a M3 screw to self tap nicely. There are also a couple of holes on the underside of the Tray Top that are 2.8mm and allow the ‘Ironclad_Enclosure_Tray_Cover’ to bolt to it.

If I remember any other information I'll add further notes. It's about 18 months since I made this and I can't remember every detail. It was a fun project though, I hope someone else finds this useful. If so I look forward to what you make :)
