Quickly strip old fishing line from a reel using a drill or impact driver and the cardboard tube from a toilet paper roll.

The standard ¼-inch hex shaft fits directly into a driver’s quick-change chuck or a conventional drill chuck. The cylindrical mandrel slides partway into the toilet paper tube and grips it tightly enough to wind up old line for easy disposal.

A small notch at the base of the mandrel captures the end of the fishing line beneath the tube, so there is no need for tape or knots.

How to use it

  1. Put the ¼-inch hex shaft into your drill or impact driver.

  2. Feed the end of the fishing line through the notch at the base.

  3. Slide an empty toilet paper tube onto the mandrel, trapping the line underneath it.

  4. Hold the rod or reel securely.

  5. Run the drill or driver slowly until the reel is empty.

  6. Pull off the tube and dispose of the old line responsibly.

Features

  • Standard ¼-inch hex shaft

  • Works with drills and quick-change impact drivers

  • Uses an ordinary toilet paper tube

  • Built-in notch captures the end of the line

  • No tape, knots, or extra hardware required

  • One-piece print

Start slowly. A tube full of fishing line can become unbalanced if the line winds heavily toward one side.
