My kids named my car and I wanted to make some license plate frames to so that the rest of the world will know how to address her.
So I designed a license plate frame for standard USA license plates (6x12 inches).
Slicers have gotten super good at allowing users to customize models in-slicer so there isn't as much need for making CAD models of every possible option.
Here are three different blank models that you can customize in your slicer by adding embedded text and shapes then doing color swaps or adding a pause to swap filaments at a certain layer height. If you limit your text embedding to just a layer or two, you should be able to do the color swap manually. The pause method is even easier with a non-color changing printer. I have done both of these methods with great success.
I strongly recommend printing this in a material that is UV and temp resistant. PETG should work well and is what I chose, ASA might be another good choice. PLA would probably not be wise.
The two “banner” format ones are able to be printed at a diagonal on a 256mm bed printer like a Bambu, the complete frame is split to allow it to be printed on a 300mm bed machine, but will need to be glued together when its finished.
The files are libre, modify, share, enjoy but do not re-license them.
