Work in progress
This model is a work in progress. It is designed to print on a large print bed machine as it is 321x179. It may be possible to split this into multiple pieces but will require additional work to ensure the base can handle the weight of the machine.
Here is a simple sewing machine base made for a Singer 99. Works with both older and new models. May work with other "¾" sized machines but I has not been tested.
- If your machine has a threaded boss on the bottom for the base attachment, you will also need a 1/4-20 x 1 ¼" machine screw to attach the base.
- If your machine does not have the screw, you can attach the base using (4) ¼" by ¼" cylinder magnets (you may also stack ¼" diameter by 1/16" thick magnets stacked and glued).
Settings
I suggest printing this model in PETG. I have only used the base for a couple of weeks, but so far, it seems sturdy enough for my purposes.
- Material - PETG
- Layer Height - 0.2 mm or thicker
- Infil - 20% or greater
- Wall Perimeters - 3 walls
- Top/Bottom Layers - 3 or 4 layers
Machines Confirmed to Work
1928 99 - Has threaded boss and allows the use of the ¼-20 screw
1955 99k - Does not have a threaded boss, but using magnets keeps the base in place.
