Round and rectangle hot glue grommets

Made for 6oz geotextile to hang as a decorative backdrop.  

These should allow both MOLLE straps and ½" zip ties, and the round ones should be usable with 2mm cord and paracord.

Reliability 

I've done a few iterations, but I'm still looking for ways to improve this design.

At present it works pretty well, but it's fairly light duty and limited by the adhesive strength of the glue. Too much shaking and random pulling will eventually cause it to fail.

If it does fail, the small parts could be a choking hazard.

This is a new design, the 6x20mm round variation has not been fully tested.

Printing 

You probably want to print these with adaptive layers or a very fine pitch layer height to get nice rounding.

A small amount of fuzzy skin may improve adhesion.

Installation 

To install, the wide ones, mane a rectangular hole in the fabric, not just a hole, apply glue around it, then install the male end.  

Do the same for the female end, then fill in the empty space on the female side with more glue. This last step is pretty important for strength. Using high temp glue may help adhesion but might also 

The female end looks symmetric, but the side closest to the fabric has a rounded inner part, and the other side has a rounded outer edge.

Using fabric glue and filling with a 3D pen instead of a glue gun may also improve things.

Making Variations 

The FreeCAD files to make variations are only semi-parametric, some manual tweaking of fillets and such may be needed.
