The magnets inset slightly to keep the base flat. A small hole on the top side, just in case you need to push the magnet out. A small amount of glue is needed to keep the magnet in. Support not needed. It has its own support built in for the magnet holes that can be snapped out.
The knob caps push in far enough to hold the nut down but allow nut to move around a little. The center of the cap is relieved to allow the screw room to go near the top of the knob before touching the cap. The cap needs a little glue at the top to hold it in. The cap can be pushed out by using a long screw to crank the cap off.
