Inspired by Ian Shirk's linear rod mod for the Y axis, I decided to take the idea and scale it to the X and Z axis's. This was also inspired by the likes of the Prusa MK3, MK4, and such printers. The end result is a modification that makes the Ender 3 S1 stronger, more resilient, more accurate printer. This mode is also affordable roughly costing $40-$50 depending on where you source your hardware.

WARNING!

This modification necessitates taking apart your printer.

I am not responsible for any damage done to your printer.

By making this mod you are accepting all risks associated.

I have attached a pdf in the files section, containing everything you will need and need to know for this project. If you have any questions, just leave a comment.

If you do make this mod, please give feedback e.g comments, concerns, advice, ideas, etc.

Finally, this took me a long time to develop and make, so please leave a like if you can.

Short summary of pdf:

X axis only mod Hardware:

3x linear bearings

2x 8mm linear rods

2x M3 bolts 20mm

about 100g of filament depending on how you slice it.

All other hardware is sourced from the parts already on the printer

X and Z mod Hardware:

7x linear bearings

2x 8mm linear rods 450mm

2x 8mm linear rods 350mm

Variety of M3 bolts

Variety of M5 bolts

8x t-nuts

about 220g of filament depending on how you slice it.

All other hardware is sourced from the parts already on the printer

Slicer Settings:

4-5 walls

20% infill (I used cubic)

tree supports

ABS or pro PLA

I have attached photos in the pdf to show how to orient the parts.

Once again the pdf goes much more in to detail, so if you're interested in this mod go to the files for the pdf.
