Trio Flat Mount for the Starlink Gen 2 (V2/Rev 2) dish
Requires cutting the dish using table saw (recommended) or dremel. I recommend watching the install video for all details and instructions prior to starting.
Mounting options include through-bolting, rubber coated magnets (via m5 females threads), or suction cups.
Printed on a QIDI X-Max 3 with ASA (I recommend printing in ASA for heat and UV protection).
I recommend scaling each of the models to 100.2% to account for slight ASA shrinkage. The dish will fit at 100% but will be tight.
Layer Height: 0.2mm
Walls: 4 (minimum)
Infill: 30% Cubic
Requires supports for the hex shaped holes
250 nozzle, 100 bed, 55 chamber
Flatmount Assembly Instructions
- Use ASA slurry (acetone and scrap ASA filament) to weld the 4 pieces together – once dry you can sand the seams if needed. Apply spray paint such as Rustoleum to the frame if desired.
- Use ABS cement to weld the frame to the 3mm laser-cut acrylic base and place weight on top. Once dry use flexseal caulk or similar to seal along the inner seam
- Use soldering iron to insert the 20x M5 (M5 X D7 X L7) heat set inserts in top holes
- Install Amphenol one-way vent and PG7 cable gland in hex holes
- Cut 4 mm EPDM O-ring gasket to length (cut on 45 degree angle) and superglue ends together
- Install o-ring gasket and lubricate with a coating of PTFE based lubricant
- Cut the finicky USB-C cable end off the dish cable and feed the cut end through the PG7 cable gland
- Install the cut dish into the case and plug in the JST connector of the dish cable
- Position the 4.5mm polycarbonate cover and use M5 x 16 mm SS Cap Screws to secure
- Use shielded RJ45 Connectors to crimp T568B pinout on the cut dish cable, and the same pinout pattern on the router-dish cable (cut off USB-C connector first – ENSURE it is dish side of the cable). NOTE: exact pinout pattern of these two cable ends does not matter as long as both are the same.
- Use M5x40 mm SS Cap screws in the outermost corners to thread into female M5 rubber-coated magnets or longer screws for through bolting, etc. You can also choose to forego the heat set inserts in the corners if you prefer to use larger M6 screws for your mounting option.
* Plug in to the Starlink router and enjoy!
