Feet and Feathers Mini Mobile

Just a fun little mobile. The sizes of the feathers and the length of the rod are designed so that the tips of the middle feathers barely touch the soles. You can see the assembly diagram in the fourth picture. The feathers on each level are of the same weight, which means they can be swapped around. The top pair of feathers is optional.

If you want the mobile to be easy to disassemble, choose a rod with hooks. If you need it to withstand strong drafts and occasional bumps, opt for one with holes.

You can print it using any plastic and in any color. For the feathers and soles, use the thinnest layer thickness possible. For the rod, a layer thickness of 0.2-0.3 mm is sufficient.

It's best to assemble it using the thinnest thread or fishing line you can find, threading it through the holes in the feathers according to the diagram. The soles are suspended by a loop. The lower feathers act as mere counterweights, so you can hang them in any position. It’s better to attach the soles last, as it makes it easier to adjust the thread length.

For tying the threads, I recommend the loop knot shown in the last picture. It's simple and allows for adjustment of the length before securing it tightly.
