Hello, and thank you for viewing my design. This one uses a little of a KG of filament start to finish.
Parts you may have lying around the house:
- Tripod Base with 3/8-16 thread (Almost All Tripods have this “under” the head)
- Some PTFE Tubing (3D Printer Bowden Tube)
Purchased Parts
- Lens Set (80mm x 500mm) $39.00
- 90 Degree Eyepiece Mount $16.96
- Telescope Focuser Thread on Telescope Matches This one(M56 I Believe) $38.80
- Telescope Eyepiece ( I really like 10mm in this scope) $~15.00
- M3 Heat Set Inserts and M3 Bolts
- M6 Heat Set Inserts and M6 Knob
- 3/8-16 Heat Set Insert
If you're interested in a full assembly guide, let me know. With the full source files it shouldn't bee too challenging though.
Assembly Notes
- When you put together your lenses. They come wrapped in paper, with a metal ring seperating them. Each should have a small arrow pointing towards the front of the telescope marked on the side. Assemble them like this:

- The smallest holes are for heat set inserts. The lens housing takes 4 and the main tube takes 4. So 4 hold the two together, and 4 hold the housing to the body of the telescope.

- The PTFE tube acts as a smooth bearing. So when you tighten down the M6 bolts there should be a smooth action. I used a bit of superglue to hold it in place while I got the pieces together. There should be 2 sections.
