This spool organizer is fully customizable to meet all of your wire holding needs!
It introduces a mounting solution, which lets you organize spools of different sizes and makes into the same system. It is also expandable, so you can always add more spools later.

The mounting bars can be screwed/glued to the underside of a shelf/board etc. The spool holders can individually be removed when needed.

How to use:

  1. In the onshape document, customize the spool holder to your pre-existing wire spools.

  2. Have a look at the variable “NumberOfSlots” in the feature tree. It shows you how wide one spool-holder is going to be in terms of mounting-bar slots.
    - You need to be logged in (free account) to see the variable value, I currently don't have a workaround for this
    Calculate your slot requirements.

  3. Switch over to one of the mounting-bar models in the same onshape document. Customize your bar(s) to fit the number of slots you need. If the bar has more than 15 slots and you plan on screwing it to your shelf, I recommend splitting it, because they start sagging when too long.

  4. Export and print.

Notes:

There are multiple versions of the holder in the onshape document, but I recommend the two-part one. In the single-part model, the hook part holding the spool on the holder tends to break. Adjust the “hook air gap” if the hooks is to loose and falls out, this only changes the hook's dimensions, so only the hook needs to be reprinted.

Also, there are multiple versions of the mounting bar. Some are for aligned dual bars, should the need arise. Some are for split mounting bars, if they get too long to be mounted with two screws. For the split mounting bars, there is always an “a-part” and a “b-part”, which are contained in the same model in onshape. The intermediate parts can be inserted in between in any number. If using the provided files from here, make sure you have the right combination.
The “air gap” parameter again only changes the dimensions of the mounting bars, so if the are too loose of to tight after printing, only the bars have to be reprinted.

There are assemblies for everything to see how it's intended.

The attached model files are the ones I used for myself, not sure about any standard spool sizes, I should put on here.
