The Revopoint MetroX came with an injection molded holder / tripod mount. I wanted a second one. I made it similar to the Revopoint, but designed it for 3D printing. I also modified it so you could put the MetroX in either direction. I put rubberband catches on it. I was always afraid the scanner would fall out of the original.
It uses a ¼-20 nut that is glued/pressed in. It seems pretty sturdy, but I don't know if I would hold it upside down.
