The idea is to separate each pixel into it's own "box" this in combination with a diffuser sheet or transparent paper, gives a nice “boxed” effect for each of the 4096 led's.
Beware you are not going to print the object, you are going to print just the infill and the outer borders (no top, no bottom layers). the tricky part is to find the correct infill settings to match the led's.
You want to use the following settings:
Layers and perimeters:
Vertical shells:
Perimeters: 1
Horizontal shells:
Solid layers: Top: 0 Bottom: 0
Infill
Fill density: 27.3
Fill pattern: Grid
Maximum length of the infill anchor: 0
Advanced:
Fill angle: 0
most important setting is: fill_density = 27.3% this will generate an exact grid if 64x64 boxes. when you entered (manually) "27.3", PrusaSlices may show “27”, but it will use 27.3.
The pictures show the assembled unit, the grid already sits behind acrylic glass with a sheet of diffuser paper (I missed to take a picture of the grid alone)
I shared the 3mf which should give you the full settings and the code for mk3s.
