This is a model of a standard Stanley utility knife blade. I wanted to make the most of my Pichi G9 knife that I got on Kickstarter by turning it into a less dangerous fidget toy.

There are two basic variations:

  • Uncompensated or compensated: The uncompensated model is true to the blade specifications, while the compensated one has slightly larger alignment notches to allow for some expansion while printing.
  • Pointed or rounded edges: The pointed edges are true to the specification, while the rounded ones are a bit safer.
Printing instructions
  • Choose the version you want.
  • Print the .stl file as oriented (the blade is largest on the print bed).
  • I recommend 0.1mm layer height with ironing.
Assembly
  • Gently press the joint through both blades until it is fully inserted.
Safety notes
  • This is not a toy.
  • It is less dangerous than a real blade.
  • Please supervise your children at all times.
  • Best not to bring this on an airplane.
Notes
  • I designed this model in OpenSCAD and it's fully parameterized. If you'd like a simple modification (i.e., notch diameter, blade angle, rounding radius, etc.), send me a message and I'll see what I can do.
