I designed this simple throwing gauge.

Initially, I started with an overengineered design but later simplified it. The gauge consists of a single part for all three arms (print x3). The base includes four slots for 20x3mm magnets, useful if you’re working on a metal throwing wheel. The magnets are optional, but I find them convenient—just secure them with superglue.

In the future, I plan to add a clamp base and shorter arms, but for now, the current arm length feels just right.

For hardware, I used M5 hex socket button head screws, wing nuts, flat washers split washers and regular nuts for the tips. Be sure to place a washer on each side of the tips.
I printed it in PETG on a Prusa. Everything fits on a single build plate, though I recommend printing the base separately.

A 10% infill is sufficient, with 3-4 perimeters for stiffness. If you’re not using magnets, adding extra infill to the base will help increase its weight.

Before printing, double-check the orientation. Supports for the magnet slots are probably unnecessary, but you can use them for extra peace of mind.

The tips should be secured but able to spin freely so you can position them and flick them away when the correct measurement is gauged.

Have fun!
