A roughly 35 minute test print to check printer or filaments settings before running a long print-in-place, articulated, or flexy model. Just bought a new roll of filament, don't waste filament, run this print test first!

Model is about 8 grams of filament and is designed with all the hardest features to print in common print-in-place, articulated, or flexy models.

Tests:

  • Bed adhesion and warping.
  • 0.3mm print-in-place wall clearance for the pole through the cannon.
  • 3 cannon balls for 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 print tolerances, each has a stripe on the bottom, 3 stripes being the easiest at 0.3mm.
  • Overhangs for straight edges and arches.
  • 0.4mm overhangs for model features and text.
  • Stringing test on the wheel spokes.
  • 37.6mm bridge for the cannon pole mount.

Print settings:

  • 0.2mm layer height
  • Double check print preview for the long bridge section and make sure it has the correct cooling and speed.
  • 0.15mm elephants compensation.
  • 2 walls, in tests used 0.45 line width
  • 15-20% infill (not grid)

After the print is done the cannon should break free or be loose. If the cannon is stuck then either flow rate, print temp, or fan speed, are not correct. Once the cannon is free, test each cannon ball starting with the 3 striped(0.3mm) and finish with 1 stripe (0.1mm). If the 0.1mm cannon ball fits then your printer is well tuned and can handle printed parts with a gap of 0.2mm from each other.

Happy printing and share this model with others!

Unlike some other models, the only restriction is to give attribution, thanks!
