~---:::(WORK IN PROGRESS):::---~

  • Update 5 5/17/2026 Added minimal 140mm fan mount with airflow director + expansion card support v2.

  • Update 4 5/3/2026 | Added Keyboard holster comprising of two parts, top and base. Located in the Extras directory.

  • Update 3.5 5/2/2026 | Added 4040 endcaps (located in extras directory), pause at layer 3 for color change when printing at .2 LH for different color hexagons, I went with a black glitter to flat teal transition. Looks sharp.

  • Update 3: 5/2/2026 | Added front and back storage bucket that also acts as armor plates when moving the system around.

  • Update 2: 5/1/2026 | Added monitor mount consisting of four parts and a 90 degree 120 mm fan bracket. Added pictures reflecting additions and current state of project.

  • Update 1: | Added angled bracket for a 120mm fan to point at the front side bus and graphics card for additional cooling.

I started this project in the middle of purging E-waste and metal scrap out of my shop area. I found three slot 1 motherboards, 7 pentium ⅔ processors, memory, water cooling gear, power supply, and an Ender 3 hulk that got destroyed when the power supply failed and went to 78 Vdc.

So naturally I made an exoskeleton retro 1999 spec PC with water cooling.

--::Rough explanation and directions::--

For a basic air cooled build you will only need:

  • One derelict Ender3 aluminum profile frame.

  • 8mm and 12mm m3 / m4 bolts

  • 20 series T-nuts for m3 / m4

  • 3x Atx struts (top/middle/bottom), they align to ATX standard holes and there is a slot for expansion card brackets in the middle strut.

  • Six through hole spacers to go between the motherboard and the struts.

  • Power supply bracket

  • Expansion card supports as needed. There are two versions, Low and High profile. The high profile is needed for a card using VGA hd15 connectors, everything else works with the LowPro version

For a water cooled build add the rest. I will add pictures and more models as the project develops.
