Fun Facts!:
Serotonin and these two compounds are examples of a group of compounds known as substituted tryptamines. Due to the similarity in shape, psilocin acts on serotonin receptors in the brain. N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) is another example of such a substance.
Some mushrooms, including but not limited to psilocybin mushrooms, turn blue when bruised!
The world's largest organism by mass, area, and volume is possibly the Armillaria ostoyae mushroom located in northeastern Oregon.
