FTC Slider Actuator

We created a mechanism for extending Misumi linear slides using servomotors. Our team uses a Misumi SAR 320 slide, so the model was specifically designed for this slide. However, its general design makes it very easy to adapt to slides of other sizes.

Our goal was to develop a mechanism that is easy to implement and highly effective, making it particularly suitable for rookie teams in FTC. The system was designed with simplicity and functionality in mind, ensuring that it minimizes the learning curve while providing reliable performance during matches.

Key Features of the Mechanism:

Adaptability: Although tailored for the SAR 320, the mechanism's design is versatile enough to fit other Misumi slide sizes with minimal modifications. This flexibility allows teams to use the concept regardless of their specific hardware.

Ease of Assembly: We focused on making the assembly process as straightforward as possible, using common components and providing clear instructions. This ensures teams can implement the design with minimal technical challenges.

Precision and Reliability: By utilizing servomotors, our mechanism offers precise control over the slide’s extension and retraction, ensuring consistent performance under competition conditions.

Support for Rookie Teams: This design was created with newer teams in mind, offering a balance between performance and simplicity. It is a great starting point for those looking to enhance their robot's capabilities without overcomplicating the build process.

We hope this design will help your team succeed in matches and contribute to your FTC journey. Good luck!
