Case for Tuya luminance sensor with magnetic

I have designed a custom housing for the Tuya brightness light sensor to provide effective protection against external influences. This housing is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The sensor is effortlessly installed by simply plugging it into the housing.

The housing features a secure cover that attaches to the main body with M3 screws, requiring the use of threaded inserts for a robust connection. For the sensor window, you can either leave it open or use a printed insert made from transparent filament.

I fabricated the housing using BambuLab ASA for durability and weather resistance, while the insert was printed with transparent PETG for optimal light transmission. The insert can be easily placed into the housing or secured with a few drops of glue.

For added functionality, the housing is designed to accommodate 8 neodymium magnets (6x3mm). These magnets are embedded seamlessly during printing, as the printer pauses at the correct layer, leaving them invisible in the final product. This magnetic feature allows the housing to be conveniently attached to metal surfaces such as posts, railings, or similar structures.
