Adjustable Sink Bridge and Whetstone Holder

Update 15/09/2025 - I've rebuilt the model in Onshape and provided an updated set of stls, a .step file, and a link to the onshape document for easy customisations.  This fixes the issues from earlier comments.  Description updated to match.

A mostly 3D printed whetsone sink bridge that is used to securely hold most sizes of whetstone over your sink so you can sharpen safely and easily.  The stls provided are 68mm wide and hold anything thicker than 7mm.

Very much inspired by mikechenders design here, but designed from scratch to be adjustable, easy to use, and built from what I had on hand.  You can see what r/sharpening had to say here.

The model uses M5 heat-set threaded inserts (I uses the ones made by CNC-kitchen).

Hardware required

• M5 socket head cap screws (3x 25mm for the ends, 1x 20mm & 1x 25mm for the thumbscrews)

• M5 nut (3x)

• M5 set screw (4x 15mm)

• Rubber feet for the surfaces which rest on the sink (optional)

• M5 heat-set inserts (6x anything 5-10mm long)

• 12mm round bar approx. 30cm: PVC, delrin, aluminium, steel etc (4x)

I have provided the Onshape document link and .step files so you can easily make changes to suit your needs.  The Onshape file is almost completely parametric (and hopefully very robust) so it should be easy to change things like rod size and hardwaree type by simply changing the parameters. 

I printed this from eSun PETG but any material should be fine.
