These replacement bow arms for the 1991 Nerf Bow and Arrow allow you to use 1/8" or 3mm bungie cord as a slight power enhancer!
The original arms were purely decoration and I felt they needed to be used in some capacity.
If you do plan to run the cord through the original handle you will need to drill out the holes on top/bottom and then fish your bungie cord through. I did create a small filler plug/cap so the cord wouldn't rub on the cut plastic.
All of these parts should be VERY snug in the shell and shouldn't need any glue to hold them in.
It is HIGHLY suggested that you brace the shell with some sort of filler like Smoothcast, Devcon/Permatex plastic welder, or at the very least hot glue to prevent any flexing to the original shell.
For my own personal build I used Smoothcast 300 to fill voids in the shell, replaced the original spring with one from an Xploderz Gelball blasters, ran 1/8" cord through the arms, and re-sleeved the barrel to allow different dart types. With that I was able to achieve 70fps with MXL, 130fps on N1 darts, and up to 160fps with singled half-darts.
