Lesson Plan & Constraints:
The objective was to design a school improvement project that would benefit a teacher. In this scenario, the project was designed to help the music teacher, Mr. McGee. I worked on this project alongside my partner, Shawn Shknevsky. There were no specific constraint size restrictions, but the goal was to keep it relatively small as usual.
Summary & General Advice:
My hook was not able to be finished at the time due to it being brought up last minute, however the hook part has been complete. But the reason why this is considered “modular” is due to the fact that multiple different copies of this hook were to be made but with different bottoms being fit for different platforms, which would be used to accommodate the size and strength of different percussion instruments.
My general advice would be to take all the dimensions of the stand ridges, and make the model dimensions a little bit smaller in order for wiggle room to not be a problem, considering the stands are also slightly angled and the hook should fit on just perfect.
Overview & Design Choices:
The only significant future changes in contrast to the original sketch were that more fillets were added in only some places to fit the roundness of the lip underneath the bottom of the ridge, as well as pillars at the bottom of the hook to create more structural support.
Down below is the original sketch:

The hook was not extruded a big length because it wasn't necessary, and the darker squares were cut to create the pillars.

Down below were the fillets made to better fit the hook onto the stand: (The only outside fillet edges that weren't made were the ones sliding in)

This is what has been made so far, but some bottom ideas for different percussion instruments were brainstormed, i.e. a hook as the bottom so you can make two to hold a pair of claves, a small hole able to fit the size of a suspended cymbal mallet or triangle beater, etc.
