I designed this clamp to mount my Yarn Counter Stand, but it may also be used as a general purpose clamp.
It is completely parametric (change the variable values in the included Fusion 360 file).
I’ve included an STL with a thin top to fit Yarn Counter Stand’s cutout.
I’ve also included an STL that is thicker and sturdier for more general purpose.
Printing
There are no special printing requirements and no support needed. I used PETG for strength. I used .20 layer for good thread resolution.
The frame is meant to be printed on its side with the small rectangular notch in the threads facing up. Do not add any support in the thread hole.
The screw is meant to be printed standing tall. You get the best threads when printing vertically.
Assembly
Fusion 360 creates good threads, but they may be a little tight at first. I use a method I got from a good friend – put some WD-40® on the threads and alternately tighten and loosen, working it until it screws well throughout the entire range. Be sure to clean the parts well afterward – unless you really like the smell of WD-40®.
Update
I made a small change in the design source parameters to allow the screw to be placed in the frame at a location other than centered. {All other files remain the same.}
