Allows you to make an adapter that takes USB-C input into a USB-C trigger card, then output 9v, 12v, 15v, or 20v, depending on your needs.
Many vintage laptops I've tested on can work with slightly lower voltage, so using the 15v straight out of the trigger board for a 16v laptop adapter works great, for example.
I also ran into issues with a 24v version where my boost converter overheating and failing. I noticed when that happened my laptop kept working fine even though the boost converter failure meant it was only outputting 20v. So I decided to remove the heat producing component and just use 20v or 15v depending on the laptop.
I've used these adapters for my PowerBook 5xxs (15v), Apple IIc (15v), iBook G3s / G4s (20v) Powerbook 3400/5300/190, PB Duos (20v). I just put in differently configured USB-C trigger board for the right voltage, attach the appropriate cable for the machine, and use PrusSlicer to emboss labels into them.
See the details for the screws and the trigger boards here: https://www.printables.com/model/1008454-powerbook-160-usb-c-pd-adapter
Note you can get trigger boards in a 9v/12v version or a 15v/20v version. Buy the one needed and solder the bridge between pads to switch between the two voltages for the board you get.
As for the cable ends, many are available off the shelf or as adapters. I discuss in this thread:

For the 5xx adapter, I used a 3d printed model in resin with a stainless steel tube cut for the shielding as described here:
