YACOB consists of boxes of varying sizes that can be stacked together to create a cable storage system, customizable to your needs. You can print larger compartments for longer and wider cables, and smaller compartments for short and thin cables.
There are four sizes of boxes: 15mm, 20mm, 30mm, and 40mm wide.
There are four types of boxes:
- Start: It has holes on one side and is designed to start a stack.
- Middle: These are used in the middle of the stack.
- End: It has notches on one side and is used to end a stack.
- Single: This has no holes or notches and is used if you only want to use a single box without building a stack.
There are two styles of boxes:
- Solid Boxes: These use more filament, take longer to print, but are easier to print.
- Hexagon Walled Boxes: These print faster and use less filament. However, if you have issues with stringing, they may be more difficult to print. I also think they look nicer!
The holes and notches are there solely to help align the boxes. You’ll still need a small drop of super glue on the four corners to hold them together. Be careful not to use too much glue, so you can still pry them apart later if you want to extend the stack.
I printed them upright in PLA without a brim or support.
