Lesson plan and Constraints:

This was for a free choice final project with no set plan or constraints.

Summary:

Have you watched Season 2 of Squid Game? Have you ever wanted to play the minigames that the players in the show play? With this set of 4 Minigames, you can immerse yourself in the world of Squid Game!

Included is:

Ddakji (print 2)

Flying Stone (print 1 of each model)

Gong gi (print 2 triangles and 2 circles, one square, one case)

Spinning top (print 2 bodies, use own string)

Assembly:

For the throwing stone, glue the two halves together, matching up the different curves on both.

For the Top, glue both halves together by the two flat sides. Making sure to match up both the top and bottoms.

Design Choices:

Ddakji:

Originally, I wanted to create folds, to depict the actual, folded paper version better. However, creating that proved to be extremely difficult. Instead, I created an x-shaped cut, which still shows shape of the Ddakji.

Flying Stone:

The only change that I made was that I changed the spacing between the shape engravings to be slightly wider to fill out the surface of the target stone.

While printing the throwing stone, I sunk the stone into the printing plate, so that only the top half would print. Then I did the same with the other half. This allows for a larger flat surface to print on.

Gong gi:

For all 3 different shapes, the base is the same. I first extruded a circle, then cut smaller semicircles out of the side. Originally, I had the center of the smaller circles on the circumference of the extruded circle.

However, the final shape that this created was not completely accurate to the gong gi in the show. So, I moved the center of the circles out about 0.15cm.

This corrected the shape, making it more accurate to the show.

Spinning Top:

For the spinning top, originally, I wanted to print the entire top as one piece. However, that did not give a good surface to print it on. So instead, I opted to print two identical halves of the top, and glue it together.

Also, after printing the final top, I realize that I could have scaled the top up by about 2 times, as well as making the divots in the bottom deeper to allow for the string to sit in them better.
