Minotaur – The Beast of Crete

Model of the Minotaur Skull with Stand
Collection: FantastiC Skull Collection (more in progress)
Printed on: Prusa MK4 and Bambu P1S
Material: PLA
Scalable: Yes (Includes two pre-sliced files at 75% and 100% size)
Supports: Yes, organic / only on plate

Handle with care when removing the supports! Some fine structures are delicate and may break if not removed carefully. (unfortunately I broke both long teeth while removing the support :-( still looks great ;-)

Background:

  • Culture: Greek Mythology
  • Cultural Background: The Minotaur is the legendary hybrid of man and bull, imprisoned within the Labyrinth of King Minos on Crete. He was born as divine punishment for the king’s arrogance after breaking a promise to Poseidon. To conceal the beast, Minos ordered the genius inventor Daedalus to construct an inescapable maze, where the Minotaur roamed and was fed human sacrifices.
  • Traits: Enormous strength, primal instincts, yet not without tragedy. The Minotaur was not purely evil—he was a prisoner of his own nature and fate.
  • Worst Habits: He hunted and slaughtered anyone who wandered into the labyrinth. But he was not just a predator—he was also an eternal prisoner, lost within the maze with no hope of escape.
  • Rank in the FantastiC Skull Collection: A creature of curses—neither man nor beast, but a monster born from divine punishment. The Minotaur represents the consequences of human arrogance.
  • The Meaning of the Legend:
The Minotaur embodies the punishment of hubris and the inescapability of one’s fate. His labyrinth symbolizes the traps of one’s own mistakes. This myth warned people that deceiving the gods had consequences—those who overstep their bounds will find themselves trapped.

Hintergrund

Kultur: Griechische Mythologie
