This model was motivated by wanting a stand for my calipers that was easy to access.

It can be used for anything that fits in its hands, such as pencils, pens, paintbrushes, or whatever else needs to be held somewhere convenient!

The assembly is straightforward, and the tolerances are such that friction should hold the hands in the arms, and the arms in the body. Even if the fit is too loose, gravity and the piece designs allow for the model to still be stable with a load in its arms. A little bit of superglue can help if needed.

Recommended Print Settings:

  • Tree supports for the body
    • It is possible to print with no supports, but some details with steeper areas and small overhangs may look worse
  • No supports for the other pieces
    • If you do want to support the tracks, make sure that no supports generate in the internal cavity for the clips that are difficult to remove
  • Print in the provided orientations
  • Copy and mirror the arm in your preferred slicer
  • The models in the pictures were printed at 0.2 mm (blue) and 0.15 mm (gold) layer heights. Thinner layer heights make the curves look slightly better but the larger layer heights look just as good in my opinion and print faster!
  • Designed for a 0.4 mm nozzle
