We wanted to upgrade an Anet A8 Plus to a Stealthburner.

We initially thought the Voron Legacy part would be a drop in fit but the distance between linear rod centres were 40mm vs ~50mm on the stock A8 Plus.

Print Settings: (Standard Voron Settings)

  • ABS or ASA
  • Recommended Cubic Infill
  • Recommended 40% Infill
  • 4 Shells
  • 5 Top & Bottom Layers
  • 0.4mm Nozzle
  • 0.2mm Layer Height
  • Print X Gantry Pieces Upside Down

General Notes:

  • Linear rails have 3mm of float on the Y-Axis
    • There are a pair of optional screws to move the linear rail out on the idler side
  • Features Prusa-Style Square Holes in the X Gantry End Pieces for linear rod visual inspection
  • The 4 heatset inserts for the lead screw nut have very thin walls so care is required to prevent overheating of the wall or wandering of the insert
  • The X Gantry End Pieces are inspired by
  • The Stealthburner X Carriage was remixed from the Voron Legacy Project

Note on Belt Mount Bolt Direction:

  • The Belt Mount & modified X Carriage are designed for screws inserted through the back of the carriage or through the front of the carriage
  • The recommended method is inserting the screws from the back of the carriage and inserting the heatset inserts into the X Carriage instead of the front allowing for removal of the Belt Mount without removal of the Stealthburner
  • The stock X Carriage requires the removal of the Stealthburner to remove the belt mount
  • The Belt Mount should be installed with the open end facing the X Carriage to retain the belt
  • A short and a tall Belt Mount is included to move the 1mm higher or lower for better belt routing and compensating for tolerance stack-up
