Im a Halo Fan since Combat Evolved (seems like yesterday);

Recently while playing, for the first time i stopped and looked at a Fusion Core (until now ive throw them to countless enemies) and realized that, i can probably design and print one…. long story short… here we are!

Please enjoy this Tribute to an amazing Franchise!

There are 2 ways of getting this assembly done, follow the one you fancy the most, personally, i Prefer the second method, like the result more, but you be the judge:

(Left is method 2, Right is method 1)

Method 1:

  • Print in glow in the dark* the “Core”;
  • Print “Part 1” and “Part 2” files (via STLs or 3mf File);
  • Remove Supports;
  • Assemble (should offer some resistance in assembly, this is by design, so you dont need glue);
  • Enjoy!!

Method 2 (advanced Print):

  • Print in glow in the dark* the “Modified Core”;
  • Print “Modified shell” without supports in the center and order a Stop @74mm (3mf file is configured with all of this);
  • Insert the “Modified Core” with the base up (this is important, it will be the support for the roof);
  • NOTE: I have to say, you need to be careful, If you snap the print from the base its ruined and you need to start over. This is why its “Advanced”)
  • Resume Print
  • Remove Supports;
  • Enjoy!!

Printing Instructions (PLEASE READ):

Before you start:

The fine details printed in the building plate require that your bed adhesion is ON PAR, please make sure your bed is nice and clean and that your first layer calibration is done

Shell:

  • 0,4mm Nozzle;
  • 0,2mm Layer Hight;
  • 4 Perimiters;
  • PLA;
  • Supports are needed (use my 3mf file, it will have the support configuration ive used);

Core:

*NOTE: When printing the core, if you choose a glow in the dark Filament, remember, it is Abrasive, please use as a minimum an hardened nozzle!

  • 0,4mm Nozzle;
  • 0,3mm Layer Hight;
  • Glow in the dark /OR/ Normal PLA;
  • no supports or brims/skirts are needed!
